Miles Per Tank from Richard Hunter on Vimeo.
This is one of the first experiments using time-lapse
photography and a GoPro camera. My intentions were to evaluate the potential of
the technology in relation to my moving image making practice.
In relation to my ‘starting point’ (based
on photographic stills) the fixed camera position within the car creates an
unusual framed effect. The two windows (front and to the left) during the first
twenty seconds, work well against the black-silhouetted car interior. I intend
to make more use of this feature in future work as a means to focus the
viewer’s attention and to provide a simplified image suitable for
performance/projection. Over the duration of the piece the variation in
lighting hues are also useful to observe with again, the early part of the clip
being the most successful. My future pieces will concentrate on this to achieve
a more stylized/cinematic effect.
